Among Thorns
Among Thorns' self-titled debut project showcases
the band's writing ability through heartfelt lyrics that address
God directly. Songs like "Embrace This Place," "Start
A Fire," "Rain Down," "You Are," and
"Shelter Me" are all well-crafted conversations with
God set against a backdrop of acoustic pop/rock/alternative melodies.
The album contains an eclectic mix of songs and even ventures
into a Celtic mood with the peaceful "Call To You."
"Passionate worship!" That's how Among Thorns describes
its acoustic/pop-rock/alternative blend. This six-member group
is leading thousands of Gen-Xers into passionate worship and
praise. In addition to their own concerts, Among Thorns has played
dozens of large youth events with acclaimed evangelist Ken Freeman.
Jason Harrison, lead singer for Among Thorns, remembers, "When
we started playing together five years ago, we made a conscious
decision to lead our generation into deeper worship and higher
praise. We weren't interested in pursuing 'rock star' careers
then-and we're not now."
Among Thorns has already received an exceptional response
from within the CCM community, acknowledging their incredible
writing and performance skills. This group's heartfelt songs
of praise and worship speak directly to today's youth audience.
