Desperate

One of the most anticipated releases of 2001, the
Houston-based Among Thorns delivers a powerful modern-rock praise
and worship album, born out of "desperately seeking God's
face and will for our lives," says Jason Harrison, then
lead vocalist for the band. Each song is a proclamation of God's
sovereignty and our hunger for His presence in our lives.
Desperate is unique, in that the recording reflects the current
sounds of mainstream modern rock bands such as Creed, Vertical
Horizon and Nine Days; however, the project delivers vertically-centric
lyrics profiling the heart of the band but engaging the listeners
in a powerful expression of their own personal worship experience.
REVIEWS:
"At last a worship album I can get excited about...If
you've missed them so far, you're missing out...In many ways,
this album surpasses Sonicflood's famed debut -- it rocks just
as hard and is just as worshipful, but all the songs are original."

"There is some truly exciting, original stuff here that
deserves to be heard. Which is made even more exciting by the
fact that these are all brand-new songs, and not just the typical
re-cycled, same-old worship songs we've heard dozens of times
now...The album gets better with each new listen. If you're looking
for something really original and different from the Modern Worship
movement, Desperate is just the ticket. I very highly recommend
this awesome disc." -- Robin Parrish / About.com
"After listening to this CD over and over many times,
I can truly say it is one of the gems of 2001...the most solid
praise and worship project since Sonic Flood's debut! Fans of
Delirious, Sonicflood, and modern worship music are taking one
listen and they're hooked!" -- Jimmy Moore / Christian Supply
